 Current and former players took to social media to post obituaries and express their deep sorrow at the passing of Pele, arguably the greatest footballer of all time.

 Brazilian star Neymar wrote on Instagram: "Before Pele, football was just a sport."

 He added, "Pele changed everything. He turned football into art, into entertainment. He gave a voice to the poor, to black people."
